Prior to joining Peter & Partners as a Junior Associate, Maria Spiess worked as a Trainee Lawyer in the International Arbitration Practice Group at White & Case SA in Geneva. She graduated with a Bilingual Master of Law (2018) and a Bilingual Bachelor of Law (with additional qualifications in EU Law) (2016) from the University of Fribourg.
During her studies, she spent a semester at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS) in London and participated in the Willem C. Vis Moot Court for International Commercial Arbitration as a participant and in the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition as a participant, then as a coach. Prior to her law studies she took a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy and Sociology at the Paris Sorbonne University Paris IV and Abu Dhabi (2012).
