Peter & Kim was delighted to be a Participating Organisation once again for Australian Arbitration Week (AAW), held from 12 to 17 October 2025 in Sydney

Our team was involved across the week in a variety of events:

🎤International Arbitration Conference organised and hosted by the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) & co-hosted by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Australia – 13 October 2025
James Morrison spoke at the conference on a panel entitled Currents of change: arbitrating in new fields, from crypto to cannabis to climate tech and beyond, exploring the challenges involved with arbitrating in new & developing fields.

🌱🚶🏽ACICA x ACICA Sustainability Taskforce and Campaign for Greener Arbitrations Walk & Talk – 14 October 2025
Along with fellow ACICA Sustainability Taskforce members, Deborah Tomkinson led a walk along Sydney Harbour.

🕓🕔Delay and Other Disasters: Dispute Resolution in the Energy and Infrastructure Sectors across the Asia Pacific – 15 October 2025
We were delighted to co-host this event alongside Atkin Chambers and BRG supported by the Lighthouse Club Australia. This session was moderated by Deborah Tomkinson, with speakers James Morrison, Sharon McGahey (BRG), Susanna Taylor (LCM) and David Streatfeild-James KC (Atkin Chambers) sharing their insights on disputes management in a relaxed fireside chat.

📖Revising the ACICA Rules 2021: Advance Screening for 2026 – 15 October 2025
In his role as Chair of the ACICA Rules Committee, James Morrison led a discussion with Rules Committee members exploring some of the proposals that are being considered & inviting practitioners to provide input.

❓Mythbusters: De-mystifying Sports Arbitration – 16 October 2025.
We were pleased to co-host, with Bird & Bird, a myth-busting session stepping into the world of elite sports justice, exploring how different institutions shape fairness & accountability in global sport. Our speakers included Alexis Schoeb, Anthony Lo Surdo SC (8 Wentworth Chambers), Ana Tuiketei (Independent Arbitrator) and Brianna Quinn (Bird & Bird).

💡Young Arbitration Lunchtime Roundtable – 17 October 2025
Deborah Tomkinson spoke at a lunchtime roundtable held by young arbitration groups considering career strategies for arbitration practitioners & practical tips for efficiency in arbitration.
