Peter & Kim | Enforcing Arbitration Awards in Vietnam – The Winds of Change

Peter & Kim is pleased to be hosting, as a part of Seoul ADR Festival, a joint event with YKVN to explore the evolving dispute resolution framework in Vietnam.

Vietnam is undergoing the most significant legal and institutional reforms to its dispute resolution framework in decades. These reforms, include:
🔹Government restructuring
🔹Court reorganization
🔹Creation of new International Financial Centres (IFCs) with specialized courts and arbitration institutions.

These reforms are poised to reshape the enforcement landscape for arbitral awards.

This seminar will explore Vietnam’s recent arbitration reforms and their implications for dispute resolution, including the establishment of new IFCs and changes in award enforcement. It will help contractors and investors understand how these developments affect disputes and enforcement in Vietnam. The session will also compare the treatment of liquidated damages and multi-tiered dispute resolution clauses under Vietnamese, English, and Korean law.
