Peter & Kim ranks in GAR 30 2025

Peter & Kim is pleased to be featured in the GAR 30 2025, ranked at 26, after the most recent guide to the world’s leading international arbitration practices was released by GAR at its annual awards ceremony in Paris last week.

We are delighted to have featured in the GAR 30 four of the five years since the firm’s inception in 2020.  This prestigious recognition reflects our firm’s dedication to making a positive impact for our clients and to providing the highest quality legal services. The guide notes feedback that Peter & Kim is “among the best in the world in the field of international arbitration“. It is a privilege for the firm to be acknowledged among the leading arbitration practices globally and is testament to the talent of the entire team.

The GAR 30 is based on a quantitative analysis, ranking firms according to a number of different factors over a two-year period. The research considers both merits and jurisdictional hearings, the amount in dispute in those cases and the number of hours billed to arbitration over that period. The number of high value matters settled during the window and the portfolio value of a firm’s active arbitration caseload is also taken into account.

In addition, the ranking considers the number of arbitrator appointments a firm’s members have received and the number of individuals who appear in GAR’s sister publication – Lexology Index: Arbitration – a peer selected guide to the leading practitioners, where Peter & Kim have 12 team members featured, 9 in the main guide and 3 future leaders.

The 18th edition of the entire GAR 100 guide may be viewed here: GAR 100 – Global Arbitration Review. It highlights some of our recent matters which include assisting the Government of South Korea defeat most of a US$5 billion ICSID claim by US private equity group Lone Star, representing POSCO to secure the complete dismissal of a US$2.5 billion claim brought by joint venture partner Gale, and counselling Austrian energy group OMV in a politically charged pair of arbitrations against Russia’s Gazprom relating to terminated gas supply contracts. In this last matter Peter & Kim represented the client in a Zurich-seated ICC arbitration that concluded in November 2024 with an award worth over €230 million in the client’s favour, and an SCC arbitration that produced an award for OMV in February 2025.
