Rodica Turtoi is a civil and common law trained lawyer specialized in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. In the past decade, she worked in arbitration in France, the UK and Switzerland and has gained significant experience with disputes related to oil and gas, construction, real estate, commodities trading, automotive and heavy industry. She acts as counsel in proceedings conducted under the ICSID, ICC, SCC, SAC and UNCITRAL Rules in both English and French
Rodica Turtoi graduated with a dual degree from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Bucharest Universities. She also obtained a Master 2 in International Trade Law from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Cornell Law School.
Rodica is admitted to practice in New York State (2015) and passed the Paris Bar (2016).
In 2024, Rodica was listed as a Rising Star in arbitration by Legal 500 EMEA.

- Counsel representing a large European industrial group in two parallel arbitrations (ICC and SCC) in relation to disputes concerning natural gas deliveries with an amount of USD>500 million and USD>250 million in dispute, under Swiss and Swedish law.
- Counsel in an ICC arbitration for a major mining and metallurgy consortium with more than USD 500 million in dispute, under Swiss law.
- Counsel to the investor in a dispute related to bankruptcy proceedings and expropriation arising from inappropriate and untransparent applications of sanctions regimes by the Respondent State.
- Counsel for the investor in a dispute involving investment into the banking sector and subsequent freezing of assets and bank accounts due to sanctions regimes.
- Counsel in a dispute concerning a long-term supply agreement for coal deliveries, involving sanctions and supply interruption issues, under English law.
- Part of the team representing the investor in a dispute related to expropriatory tax regulations adopted by the State in which the investor prevailed.
- Secretary to the Arbitral Tribunal in an arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules, related to an oil and gas concession, seat in London.
